| These lands
are magic thank to that special wine, known all over
the world.
In a simple glass of that ruby wine, spicy, fruity,
elegant which becomes velvet in the end, it is easy
to find out the proudness of this land. Chiantishire,
thank to its sweet hills and its gracious landscape
is an inspiration to many artists who decided to live
there, such as the American painter George d’Almeida
or Mattew Spender who, as Bernardo Bertolucci said when
they worked together on “Stealing Beauty”
in Gaiole in Chianti, “in the morning he used
to grow his plants and in the afternoon he was working
on his sculptures…”
The small country streets which follow the hill’s
shape are still silent and perfect for a walk, a bike
ride or to be visited using a vintage form of transport…
Walking through Siena streets it is
impossible not to notice its soul which comes out from
every stone of its buildings. Every area inside the
town itself shows its own traditions and stands out
with its elegance and beauty, exalting itself in a riot
of colors, flavours, sounds and emotions: The Palio:
a horses race which is a metaphore for an ancient war
between the single areas inside Siena (Contrade), full
of an almost religious passion. Outside Siena walls
on the other hand, a kingdom of peace: sweet, sunny
hills, following one another like dunes, dotted with
cypresses, country houses and vineyards. The vineyards
of Chianti.
