Umbria Jazz Festival is, without any doubt, one of the most important event dedicated to jazz in Europe. SEPTEMBER Grapes Harvest
Here we're talking about wine, because September is the month of the grape harvest and of the celebrations dedicated to it.
In some areas of the south, grapes are ready for harvesting in August, and towards the more Northern regions, it can take up until November for the grapes to be ready - it all comes down to ripening of the grape, it must have the right level of sweetness. In Tuscany, the grape harvest happens in September, and is therefore big on the agenda for a region to which wine is very important.

OCTOBER Olives Harvest-New Oil/ Chestnuts Festival/ Eurochocolate
The Olives raccolta yields one of Tuscany's most treasured products: olive oil. Extra-virgin Tuscan olive oil is valued by chefs worldwide for its purity and intense, fresh, grassy flavor. In the restaurants and kitchens I visited and throughout Italy, it was used liberally, as the base for sauces, soups, and stews, to add flavor to vegetable and bean dishes, and showcased on its own in antipasto courses where it was drizzled in fine streams over crusty bread and pooled in shallow dishes for dipping asparagus or mozzarella slices. It is possible to visit and taste new oil or be a part of it and picking olives together with the farmers!
Chestnut Festival: Usually the second or third weekend of October, featuring dishes homemade with local chestnuts
Eurochocolate:since 1993, Perugia’s Eurochocolate chocolate festival has been steadily growing in popularity. Today, it is one of the most important chocolate festivals in Europe and features everything from theatre and music performances to cooking demonstrations and chocolate art exhibits. A highlight for most visitors is the collection of outdoor chocolate sculptures; between all the chocolate used in the artwork and all the chocolate being sold by vendors outdoors, if the weather is warm you won’t be able to walk through town without breathing the chocolate-scented air.

NOVEMBER Olives Harvest-New Oil

DECEMBER Live Nativity Scene Exhibitons
Nativity scenes are instead a classical Italian institution and range from very simple family-made arrangements to more complex ones, usually to be found in churches. Some areas, including Florence, still hold competitions for the best household Nativity scene. The setting is also in movement with waterfalls, rivers, windmills and fires, while the lighting changes from dawn to dusk, thus allowing the appearance of the guiding star in the evening
